These are images from my travels, near and far, made in the medium of black and white photography. They are silver prints from 35mm film, which I hand-processed and printed in my darkroom. I am drawn to aspects of the landscape that are the less dramatic ones in their perceived grandeur, but even so they are no less full of life and stories. I am stopped by a "certain something" as I wander through these places, and these images are my attempt to capture that inspiration.

I play with the elements that are out there—everything from trees and roads to a piece of trash or a solitary pinecone—to create a composition that satisfies the feeling I have for the place. In that way, I suppose I am molding or manipulating the scene rather than trying to portray its truth (assuming there is such a thing). Therefore, I consider my images to be, at the very least, my offering of temporary truths.
